Breast Ultrasound Before Breast Augmentation and Breast Reduction Surgery

The pre-operative control of the breast is one of the conditions that should be considered before undergoing breast aesthetic surgery.

In particular, patients with a family history of breast cancer should undergo a breast ultrasound or, depending on the situation, a mammogram before undergoing surgery.

Things to Consider Before Breast Surgery

Importance of Breast Ultrasound

In order for patients coming to Turkey for breast aesthetics (breast augmentation or breast reduction) to arrive in Turkey two days before their surgery, the Health and Beauty Travel Organization Team schedules their surgery date with the hospital prior to their arrival. As a result, the patient’s breast ultrasound is performed one day before the surgery, and a report from the radiology doctor is generated. The report is forwarded to the Aesthetics Doctor, who examines it to determine if there is anything that could prevent the operation from going forward.

On the contrary, providing breast aesthetics for a cancer patient is a significant disadvantage for both the doctor and the patient.

For at least 6 months after such a procedure, it is impossible to determine whether or not there is cancer tissue in the breast. It will be difficult for Ultrasound to distinguish between normal breast tissue and cancerous breast tissue after surgery because incisions are made in the breast tissues during the procedure. If we keep in mind how critical early detection is in the case of breast cancer, we can see how a situation like this could lead to much more serious problems.

How is Breast Ultrasound Performed?

During the ultrasound procedure, there is no discomfort or discomfort. The procedure takes approximately 15-20 minutes on average. The probe tool is used to move the gel around the chest after it has been applied to the chest area. The radiologist watches the images on the computer screen as they are being taken. Textures that raise suspicion are highlighted. Breast Ultrasound and Mammography can be performed in conjunction in some instances.
