My Aesthetic Surgery Has Been Cancelled!

Pay Attention To These So That Your Plastic Surgery Is Not Canceled

The time spent preparing for plastic surgery is critical. Many factors, including the patient’s health status, diet, weight, height, and previous illnesses, should be considered. The most common reasons for aesthetic surgery cancellation are noncompliance with the criteria and rules outlined below.

As Health Beauty Travel, we ask that our guests, for whom we will provide aesthetic organization, follow these rules and take all necessary precautions to avoid having their surgeries cancelled. We want them to complete and accurately fill out the online Consultation forms that we have prepared and sent to our patients.

In some cases, patients may be able to conceal some of their chronic conditions by thinking emotionally. Patients may be unaware of these chronic diseases at times. This is a dangerous situation for them, as well as for the doctor who will perform the surgery and the entire healthcare team. To avoid such situations, we ask our patients who are visiting Turkey to have some tests done in their home country for control purposes. These tests will be repeated approximately 2 hours before the surgery. These are the tests:

Tests and Blood Analysis Before Plastic Surgery

The results of these tests are used to examine you by the anesthesiologist. In some cases, they may request a consultation from you. He or she can refer you to the Cardiology, Ear, Nose, and Throat, Dermatology, or Infectious Diseases Departments.

Some Conditions That Cause Aesthetic Surgery To Be Canceled

In general, the most common aesthetic surgeries, such as Liposuction, Abdominal Lift, Bbl, Breast Aesthetics, Nose Aesthetics, and Hair Transplantation, may be canceled for the following reasons.

1. Drinking Blood Thinning Drugs

The use of blood thinners is one of the circumstances that may result in the cancellation of your aesthetic surgery. Aspirin and similar drugs, in particular, should be stopped at least 10 days before your surgery date. The reason for this is to reduce the possibility of bleeding during surgery.

2. Birth Control Medicines

To avoid having your plastic surgery cancelled, stop taking your birth control pill at least four weeks ahead of time. Because birth control pills can cause blood clots to form, particularly in leg veins.

3. Anti HIV Positive Result

The HIV Test is checked in blood tests about 2 hours before your surgery. Control blood is drawn again in a patient with a high HIV value. The test is carried out again. If the test value rises once more, the subject is discussed with the patient.

Significant

A positive HIV test does not necessarily indicate that the patient has AIDS. This necessitates the use of specialized tests. In such a case, the patient is not given the test results in Turkey. The Public Health Center Laboratory receives blood tubes. The duration of the test can range between 15 and 25 days in this case.

Even if the doctor wants the operation to be performed, the hospital where it will be performed may refuse to allow it. Alternatively, the Doctor may refuse to perform the surgery until the outcome is known.

Recommendation

To avoid this, we recommend that you have your blood tests, particularly the HIV and anti-HCV tests mentioned above, one month before the surgery.

4. Chronic Diseases

Your chronic diseases should be known when planning your plastic surgery. You should notify your doctor and the organization's team about any Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Cancer, Anemia, or Communicable Diseases that are being treated.

Are you getting treatment for these illnesses? Have you discussed with your doctor whether your chronic illness is preventing you from having surgery? Was this surgery approved by your doctor?

Significant

If you have a chronic disease, make sure to ask your doctor for a treatment plan and to send a letter to your aesthetic doctor stating that your doctor does not mind having this surgery.

5. Anti HCV Positive

Control blood is drawn from patients who have tested positive for anti-HCV. If the test comes back positive, your doctor may advise you to undergo additional testing. Because these tests will take a long time, they are usually requested to be performed in their home countries. The surgery is canceled in this case.

Recommendation

To avoid this, we recommend that you have your blood tests, particularly the HIV and anti-HCV tests mentioned above, one month before the surgery.
